What brought you to yoga?
I started practicing yoga as a way to support and protect my body from injury during marathon training and competing in jiu jitsu, but once I saw the mental benefits to the practice, I was all in. Years later, I see it as a key to longevity and keeping the body and mind both strong and malleable.
What’s your yoga background and what are you most passionate about teaching?
I enjoy teaching a variety of yoga formats, as they all serve a purpose. I began teaching power yoga, vinyasa flow, and yin, and most recently have grown to appreciate restorative yoga for all the therapeutic benefits. I love to teach all bodies and minds, including special needs populations, athletes, and anyone who feels like they don't fit the "typical" yoga body.
What would your students be surprised to know about you?
I am a very grounded human being, but I used to have my paraglider pilot's license and made over 50 solo flights on the islands of Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii.
