What brought you to yoga?
I stumbled into my first yoga studio 16 years ago. I literally mean 'stumbled’ because after many years of pushing my body to do things that didn’t support it, I could no longer walk or run comfortably.
What’s your yoga background and what are you most passionate about teaching?
Since my first training in 2010, I've completed my 500 hour training with Anahata Soul (a Phoenix based school of yoga that emphasizes the subtle, energetic body) and have also earned certifications on the Spine, Hips, Shoulders, Myofascia Release/Chinese Medicine, Yoga Anatomy, Yoga for Athletes and Women's Health with Yoga Medicine. I'm most passionate about empowering students through myofascial release and an awareness of their bodies, and I love an intelligently creative vinyasa sequence!
What would your students be surprised to know about you?
I met my husband while he was on a blind date (with someone else) in my yoga class! I don't generally encourage dating your students, but I'm glad I made an exception :).
