What brought you to yoga?
As an active person, yoga started out as a way to heal sport related injuries; a way of recovery, and yet still a physical activity. Through many years of practice, and patience, it has turned into more than just a physical practice, but a way to relax the mind and work on mental heath.
What’s your yoga background and what are you most passionate about teaching?
I completed my yoga teacher training at Session Yoga in Tucson in 2014. I was trained in Baptiste power yoga, and am also skilled in hatha, hot yoga, slow flow, and yin. Over the last 5 years I’ve also worked with the University of Arizona athletic department teaching yoga to women’s volleyball, women’s golf, women’s cross country, and football. My favorite thing about teaching yoga is to be able to create and hold a safe, compassionate, and judge free space for students whether they’re there to just stretch/workout, or to unwind mentally.
What would your students be surprised to know about you?
On top of holding space for students, I love giving hands on adjustments and assists. I’m also pretty goofy in class, and don’t like to take things too seriously.
