Liz George, Hot Yoga Teacher

What brought you to yoga?
I began incorporating hot yoga into my training as a dancer in 2003. I received my 200-hour teacher training in 2010 with Jimmy Barkan in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, to inform my teaching of dance majors at the University of Arizona.

What’s your yoga background and what are you most passionate about teaching?
Now in my 21st year of teaching as an Associate Professor in the School of Dance at the University of Arizona, I value my connection to yoga in hopes of cultivating a spacious and present state of being in order to collaborate and explore with students.

What would your students be surprised to know about you?
In 2021, I completed a 200-hour teacher training with Gianna Purcell through Hot Yoga/Siddhi School, focusing on the 26&2 method, and I remain grateful for the continued mentorship and training within that program. I look forward to continuing to teach yoga in the Tucson community!
