What brought you to yoga?
Being born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I consistently “heard about '' yoga, but after a family member described how his practice and community strongly supported him during a time of emotional and physical challenges I became curious to learn more. I began attending regular yoga classes, and discovered a healthy way to more mindfully balance an active, “always on” lifestyle and intense career.
What’s your yoga background and what are you most passionate about teaching?
I took the yoga teacher training plunge and earned my RYT-200 from YogaPod Tucson and Shaelyn Delgado in March 2021. I appreciate all aspects of physical yoga practice but am particularly engaged by the calming art of breathwork and the fascinating science behind the cakras and ayurveda. I'm also passionate about sharing heated movement and fitness-style classes weaving in fun music playlists that tap my athletic side and experience teaching step aerobics and HIIT.
What would your students be surprised to know about you?
As a trained scientist working in the medical device industry, I’m aware of the clinical impact an unbalanced lifestyle creates within the body, and hope to inspire students to leverage the art and science of yoga’s eight limbs to catalyze healing, mindfulness and self-appreciation.
